Quickie Re: trees
Just this: I can’t just “roll a priest” if I “want to see my armor”. I do have a priest (and a paladin, and a shaman) and I like druids because of the healing style, NOT because they have tree form. If you’re playing a druid strictly for the form… are you serious?
I like my tree form (mostly because it’s unique and it makes it easier to position people in the raid – Run to the tree!), but I DO want to see my armor. I heal heroics in caster form because I want to see my armor and my pretty elf. I change my hair color/haircut every few weeks, I had a crush on the T9 chest + T8 helm, I LIKE seeing myself when I’m playing, not a big treant.
I do like my special form and I was hoping we’d get a redesign in Cataclysm (different colored leaves based on hair color?), but I can’t get angry about the cooldown-based tree form. My arguments right now are 50% pro and 50% con… but “if you want to see your armor, roll a priest” is NOT a valid one.

Wow, someone who’s talking sense! The “if I wanted to see my armor I’d roll a shaman/pally/priest” argument is so ridiculous. I love druid healing, but I play a resto druid in spite of tree form, not because of it.
And when people say “I rolled a druid because of tree form” I get really mad.

I don’t DISlike tree form, it’s just… there. I like being a tree (although I’d like to be an *unique* tree), but I also like to be my cute elf self. If the cooldown is not too long/the effect is not too short, it could be the best of both worlds…
I hope they implement the minor glyph idea, then everyone would be happy.

I really like tree form. I love the way I look when I’m healing, and I love the actions such as /cheer, /cower and especially /dance. All those aspects of my beloved tree will be gone in Cataclysm, and personally I’m gutted.
The argument about Paladins, Priest and Shamans doesn’t stand – but I think Blizzard’s “We want at least one Druid spec that shows off their armour” argument is equally stupid. If that’s the case why not take away Moonkin form? Fair enough, Blizzard don’t like healing forms, but I don’t really want my Druid to become the marrionette for their fugly fashion show either.
I personally find most of the Druid sets really ugly, and I’ve been relieved to be able to switch into form and avoid the armour entirely!

@nadala – druid tier2 is awsome (pre bc) Just seeing Malfurion in that set makes me think about rolling a druid :)
@jen – how about tree growing blossoms in the spring and having different colored leaves during the year? :)
As a melee you don’t get to appreciate your gear much while fighting, because of all the action, you can only see it properly when idle or traveling, so maybe only mages and ranged see their gear all the time.

Yes <3 I want my tree to be different :D
As melee I never *wanted* to see my gear, since most warrior plate looked/looks ugly. Nothing can compare with my leather T9 corset :D
