[Continued from yesterday]

Magtheridon’s Lair

GM: “Alright, the person who thinks it’s funny to pull the channelers before all five tanks are in position gets -DKP!”

All tanks get into position, countdown ensues, our MT wants to give himself Bloodrage but accidentaly presses the autoattack button and engages the channelers prematurely wiping everyone. A lot of laughing follows because our MT is the best player of our guild and we don’t skip out an opportunity to tease him about this failure.

Second try everyone is in position with hands far, far away from the keyboard until the fabled Anarya receives a whisper from someone and decides to answer back. Read the rest of this entry »

Ok, we’ve all raided and gotten the phat loot. It’s all fun and games most of the time but there’s also a steep learning curve to it which most of us take the hard way. I’ve learned a bit about raiding in my time but it hasn’t always been peaches and roses and I must say I’ve caused a bit of wiping in my time, right there along with downright noobish mistakes.

I’ve been in a rather good raiding guild which achieved rather good progress and they even managed to get attuned to MH the fair way before the attunement nerf. This is on a server where progress was something that happened to other people (that’s the way on RP servers sometimes). Unfortunately it disbanded sometime this fall and their members left for other more-or-less “hardcore” guilds.

So along with Wiping with Anarya and some of the less-than-professional things I’ve done.

Alright, so here goes the first part of my rantings. Like all those who gathered here on this webiste, I’m an avid player of WoW, following the rule that dictates that “There is no real life, there is only AFK”. I have a happy career as a vending-machine and transportation means (e.g. mage) on EU Sporeggar (RP-PVP), Horde side.

Now then, this story will be about instancing. Instancing is that little thing where you happily press your “I” button and pray to god that you’ll find a group for before the five hours that you have left pass. That’s usually how it is on my server. Especially at level 70. Especially for a DPS since they are a dime a dozen. The likelihood of me doing a daily heroic is just like a PoM+Pyro’s chance to crit while clearcasting… it just doesn’t happen.

This is mostly because nobody wants to roll a tank. Don’t get me wrong here, people play warriors and paladins and druids and there’s nothing quite as frustrating as joining a group made from two warriors, a paladin and a druid and being kicked because “soz m8 we need tank”. So you resort to the ol’ faithful “take along what you can get” and I usually enlist the services of a real life friend to tank.

This guy was born to be anything BUT a tank but refuses to play anything but his tauren prot warrior. Read the rest of this entry »

Short facts on girlfriend playing WoW:

  1. Always gets lost in instances, even in the ones she’s farming for months.
  2. Gets the same items several times, forgetting she has them already: Wrynn Dynasty Greaves twice, Cookie’s Stirring Rod twice, Bloodstained Elven Battlevest twice.
  3. Swears she never saw High Astromancer Solarian before, even if she currently has Solarian’s Sapphire equipped.
  4. Is happy when seeing Hydross the Unstable, thinking she knows the fight, but afraid she’ll die as she can never tell when to jump in the water.
  5. Goes to the Gnomeregan entrance convinced she’ll find Deadmines inside.
  6. Overaggroes and dies in the first seconds of boss fight thinking she’s still on 200 DPS instead of 900, then wonders if the new gear is that good.
  7. Picks gear for the looks of it (well, for low-level alts I must admit). Also stares at her female toons’ boobies.

What does your girlfriend do?

One of my characters is a hunter. A pretty fun one too.

I was browsing the class forum and as usually I stumbled upon yet another “Why am I being called Huntard?” thread.

So anyways I’d like to say that I know what a huntard is. a Huntard is a title, achieved during long times of battle and hard work, and continous community feedback. I wrote you a test, to determine how far you are from becoming a true flawless Huntard.

1. Roll need on caster staff / caster robe / healing shammie gear / anything else except something useful for you - 10 points
1.1 - if you rolled need on it because it looked good you get another 5 points bonus
1.2 - if you rolled to hit with it melee or because it would “help you mend your pet” - same, 5 points bonus

2. Forget to purchase ammo and food for your pet in more than 75% of your dungeons - 10 points
2.1 - if you continuously pester your groupmates for ammo and pet food you get another 5 points bonus
2.2 - if you also call them noobs for not having any ammo and pet food to give you - 5 points bonus

3. Aggro everything in a room with multishot at least 75% of your dungeons - 10 points
3.1 If you did that even before the tank got to pull one mob - 5 points bonus
3.2 If you also feign death near the healer - super cool, 5 points more

4. Always keep pet on aggressive in dungeons - 10 points
4.1 If you also make it run after you with the whole mob army after him - 5 points bonus
4.2 If you try to save the situation saying “my pet is tank!” = 5 points as well

5. Always shoot the CC’d targets - 10 points

6. If you’re at level 70 and your pet still is named Cat or Boar because you havent figured out you can actually rename it - 10 points (this does not apply to the bots)

7. Using immolation or explosive trap 100% when you’re asked to use a freezing one - 10 points

8. Constantly using during fights the Aspect of the WTF Dazed - 10 points

9. Treating your party members as complicated NPC’s - 10 points

10. Reducing your vocabulary to “need” “lol” “wut?” and “summon plzzzz” - 10 points.

So. …do YOU have what it takes to be a HUNTARD? *drum rolls*
