I am a big fan of Blizzard’s games, my 1st love being Warcraft I - Orcs and Humans, a revolutionary RTS game of it’s time, the foundation of today WoW. I also played it’s sequels, and other Blizzard games, including my favourite Lost Vikings (you can find Olaf, Baleog and Erik lost in Uldaman btw) and Blackthorne. I heard about WoW since the beta, but I feared that it will get me addicted, so I haven’t tried it until November 2006 when my boss (!) gave me a trial code after letting me play with his lowbie orc rogue. Back in the good ol’ days of “Orcs and Humans” (1994), I was a valiant defender of Stormwind, and was dreaming of a game that would take things further, letting me explore the lands of Northshire or Swamps of Sorrows. I think my first “wow” moment was when I first entered the Valley of Heroes and saw the impressive statues of the same heroes I’ve commanded in the prequels. I remember annoying Danath and Khadgar with my clicking (to bad that Blizz didn’t keep their voice sets).
On Alonsus-EU I play Sephala, a human rogue, which is also my first and main char. I also have several other alts, like Mandigal (retired) and Spekkio (funny gnome mage). I think that I can’t play anything else but DPS, no matter is melee, ranged or magic. When I created my first char, I wanted to roll a mage, but I thought that mages are harder to level and picked a rogue, because the class seemed very interesting to me. I like a bit of roleplay, so I tried something different and created Sephala, a female char. Most of my avatar’s names are derived from other games I’ve played. Even though I’ve played a lot of roleplaying games, my previous experience was worthless in WoW, so I was a noob for a long time, until I started learning from others and reading guides, like any self-taught noob does.
- Favourite item - Dartol’s Rod of Transformation
- Favourite city - Stormwind
- Favourite area - Azshara, Ashenvale
- Favourite lore figure - Lothar/Danath/Jaina
- Favourite faction - Honor Hold (lol)
- Favourite pet in my posession - White Kitten
- Best WoW moment so far - Slaying Magtheridon in the first trial night run in january 2008 and getting the Champion of the Naaru title with the guild, while I was playing on Vent “We are the Champions” by Queen, and yelling like a mad dog
- Favourite instances - Old Hillsbrad, and the other CoT instances, Stratholme
- Favourite BG - old school Alterac Valley with boss summons and pre-BC PvP sets.
- Classes I wouldn’t play - hunter, warlock
- Things I hate in WoW - everything that don’t fit with the genere, grind quests, pink gear and mounts, elitist, obnoxious players, content nerfs, alterac valley zerg
- Some of the things I love in WoW - funny stuff, lore, gnomish engineering and its side-effects, Nagrand background music, funny guild names, furbolgs, festivals, interesting quests, cooking a cake
- Most expensive and useless items bought: Orb of Deception (600g), First Mate Hat (350g)
As you can see from my stories, to me WoW is more than just a game, it’s a source of fun and inspiration for stories and artwork (coming soon).
